“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” — Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV)

Jeremiah received this promise while imprisoned, during one of the darkest seasons of his life and Israel’s history. The city was under siege, uncertainty was everywhere, and yet God invited Jeremiah not to panic — but to pray.

This verse is a reminder that prayer is not a last resort; it is an open invitation from God.

Sometimes we carry burdens silently:

  • unanswered questions,
  • fear about the future,
  • emotional exhaustion,
  • decisions we don’t know how to make.

God’s response is simple: “Call to Me.”

He does not promise that every answer will come immediately or exactly how we expect. But He does promise His presence, His wisdom, and revelation beyond our limited understanding. The “great and unsearchable things” are often the deeper workings of God — things we could never see on our own.

Today, instead of trying to figure everything out alone, bring your concerns honestly before Him. Even when circumstances feel confined like Jeremiah’s prison cell, God’s voice is not restricted.

Reflection

  • What have you been trying to handle without bringing fully to God?
  • Is there an area where you need God’s wisdom instead of your own understanding?

Prayer

Father, thank You for inviting me to call on You. Help me not to rely only on my own strength or understanding. Speak peace into my heart and give me wisdom for the things I cannot see clearly. Teach me to trust that You are working even when I don’t understand the process. In Jesus’ name, amen.
