Life can distract us so much that we forget to feed our spiritual life. In Matthew 25, some had lamps but no extra oil. They looked prepared—but weren’t.

Your faith cannot survive only on motivational posts, church once a month, or someone else’s prayers. God wants a real relationship with you.

Stay spiritually charged:

  • Pray honestly.
  • Read your Bible.
  • Choose God even when it’s unpopular.
  • Stay connected to people who strengthen your faith.

God wants your heart ready—not just your image.

Key Lesson

The foolish virgins waited until the last minute. When the cry came, panic replaced peace. Their lamps looked fine on the outside, but they lacked what was needed internally.

God is not only concerned with appearances. He looks at what sustains our spiritual life when difficult moments arrive.

Ask Yourself:

  • What am I depending on to keep my spiritual fire alive?
  • Am I feeding my relationship with God consistently?
  • If Jesus returned today, would my heart be ready?

Daily Application

Ways to keep your lamp filled:

  • Spend time in prayer even when life feels busy.
  • Read God’s Word daily.
  • Worship beyond Sunday services.
  • Forgive quickly and love intentionally.
  • Stay connected to a faith community.

Preparation is not fear—it is devotion.

Prayer

Lord, help me live prepared and faithful.
Fill my heart with Your Spirit and teach me to seek You daily, not only in moments of need.
Keep my lamp burning with faith, hope, and love.
May I be ready whenever You call.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The wise virgins were not perfect; they were prepared.
God is calling us to live with hearts that are awake, faithful, and full of His presence.
